Crime can have a damaging effect on your mental and emotional well-being. Victims of crime may suffer intense fear, shock, and terror in the course of their victimization, followed by feelings such as anger, anxiety, depression, social isolation, and helplessness. These responses may be triggered in other victims who have witnessed the injury or death of a family member or friend. Survivors of prolonged, repeated victimization, such as abused children and battered women, may develop severe mental health problems. Certain incidents impact the lives of the victims in several ways, which enhanced their vulnerabilities to further violence.
Most victims of crime usually need some help dealing with the emotional turmoil they’re experiencing. While not all crime victims need help to deal with the psychological and emotional aftermath of victimization, there are many crime victims who need specialized mental health services to help them begin and continue the healing process. RVS LAW provides individual counselling to people who have become victims of violent crime that and aims to assist victims recover from the psychological and emotional impacts the crime has had on them while simultaneous guide them through the apt legal recourse. Victims get catapulted in the legal maze upon the occurrence and reporting of a crime. Walking blind folded with little or no understanding of the legal process undermines ‘access to justice’ as well as informed participation. RVS LAW assists at both the Pre-Trial stage and in course of Trial with orientation of victims/clients to be well informed about the legal process, the Procedure and the current Stage of their matters, guiding them to apt recourse and dispute resolutions.
